Fortunately for me, I have a love of Star Wars. I grew up in an age where a person went to the movies with their friends and sat in a car and stared up at a screen you could see three blocks away. That was how I first experienced Star Wars. I was obsessed from the get go.
I would pretend I was a tiny ewok, who had somehow become one with the Force and could use a lightsaber. I even had a lifesize Ewok doll and put on its clothes. I had the fortune to have parents who were not only geeks but also gamers. My mother introduced me later to Diablo, GMUD, and BBS’.
It was on one of these BBS’ that I first got to play as a Jedi Knight. Back and forth we would send messages over the BBS and play the table top version of Star Wars. Oh the damage I did.
Now I find myself playing this game. Star Wars the Old Republic. It is like stepping back into my childhood at times. The funny moments when you hear Doc say “You love me! Admit it.” I can just hear Han Solo saying similar to Leia. When everyone in the galaxy is dependent on you to save them… and the story just gets better every time you reroll a character!
Each time I get involved with my character I unravel a new aspect to who she is. With Legacy having come out now all my characters are even more deeply embroiled in one another’s lives. My Sith Pureblood is the mother of a Miralukan… go figure. But I have to say, this game is like taking Mass Effect, sticking in all the beauty of Star Wars, the depth of story in say… for example FF7, and throwing in the best the MMO world has to offer in mechanics. Then they just keep adding more good stuff…
Best yet… You don’t need mods to play.
==================================== RIFT 1.2 Hotfix #5: 5/18/11 GENERAL * Fixed issues with usable objects in the world not respawning (introduced in Hotfix #4). * Silverwood: The Rift ‘Red Scale’ will now count toward quests and Achievements requiring you to close Rifts in Silverwood. LOOKING FOR GROUP * Players added to a group as a replacement for a partially completed dungeon will no longer be stranded outside the dungeon if the leader is also outside when the match is made. * Fixed a bug where group leaders did not correctly receive a popup offering to search for a replacement if the leader was outside of the dungeon when a group member left. * Removed annoying LFG pop up replacement spam when an entire group is leaving one LFG-formed dungeon for another. * Fixed lockouts not being set when finding Random LFG dungeons. Players doing Random LFG dungeons will be locked to them the first run as they would if they entered normally. The Random LFG tool will then bypass any instance locks of party members for any dungeons repeated before the lockout expires. ==================================== RIFT 1.2 Hotfix #4: 5/18/11 GENERAL * Adjusted the difficulty of some lower level zonewide events. * LFG: The system will block a mid-instance LFG party leader from accidently overwriting their group’s Replacement LFG request with a LFG queue for a new instance — the leader will have to dequeue from the Replacement LFG request first. * Players that have been incorrectly locked out of all instances due to a bug in the LFG system will no longer be locked out. Enjoy your dungeoneering! * Moonshade Highlands: Fixed some issues that caused the Aelfwar Emissary rare spawn to be even rarer than intended. * Shimmersand: Damage Control: Fixed an issue that caused the Victaeus encounter to break if he died on top of an Earth Beacon. * Increased the mail box soft cap from 200 to 500. You may no longer create or bid on auctions if you’re at or above the soft cap. GILDED PROPHECY * Thalguur: The ‘Power of Luxury’ buff now grants 40 attack power per application, up from 20. That’s TWICE AS MUCH LUXURY! * Corrected an issue causing physical attacks to deal less damage than intended to NPCs and Bosses in the Sliver. Several NPCs have had their hit points slightly increased to compensate for the large increase in melee damage from players. DUNGEONS & RAIDS * When a raid leader goes offline or leaves, the Raid will always select an online member as the new leader. * Achievement: Expert Abyssal Precipice: Defeating Kaler Andrenos and Majolic the Bloodwalker now gives proper credit for killing Expert versions of those NPCs. DARKENING DEEPS * Expert: Scarn’s Molten Phlegm debuff now has the correct border color and no longer stacks on players. FALL OF LANTERN HOOK * Fixed Scorching Shards not always despawning properly. * Reduced the damage radius of Scorching Shards to match the visual effect. CRAFTING Updated the Brilliant and Blazing Resistance Rune recipes. They should now use valid consumable items dropped from rifts instead of essences. UI/SETTINGS * Returned the lost arrows to character creation sliders. * Waypoints set on the world map will no longer persist into warfronts. * Reworked the Search feature on the Artifacts panel: - Removed ‘By Name’ from dropdown menu. - Removed ‘By Item’ from dropdown menu. - The Search field is always visible and the item icon has been removed. - Right-clicking an Artifact in your inventory fills the Search field with the name of the Artifact and performs a search. - Changing the dropdown selection while searching will filter results based on the selection. - You can search for an artifact in just the Completed, Incomplete, or Turned in sets in addition to all sets. CLIENT * Facebook integration should be up and running again! * Fixed a bug where the mouse could start to become unresponsive. ======================================
taunic asked: Hey, not sure if this is how you'd like the mail sent, but here's my query for an officer gig. As far as experience, I ran a WoW guild for about 4 years that averaged 300 people and was very active. I've also been an officer in some other large raiding guilds, so I know the drill for better or worse.
Have run and see you in game.
As soon as finals are done I will be happy to give you a trial run!

Every day when I log in I hear multiple requests for one thing or another, or a guildie mentioning they have some form of loot they would like to hand out. Sometimes there is no one online that said loot would benefit but they dont want to trash it to a vendor nor put it on the AH for Joe Shmoe to benefit from.
Nearly every MMO I have played to date has had a guild bank system. One where every one in a guild an access a mutual bank through the same banker they access their own personal bank.
RIFT does not have this. Yet. Though I hear it is in the works.
